When you're feeling lost, sometimes you need to go back where you came from.

After almost a year of disappearance, I am reopening this blog as a way for me to express myself and my everyday thoughts. I am in somewhat of a rough patch in my life and I feel as though this blog with help me find myself and the path I want to pursue. I will still post about fashion since it is a passion of mine, but I will also be posting more personal entries.

I am currently living in a small New England town in an apartment with my boyfriend, Ryne, my cat, Bartholomeow, and another couple we met at college. I just graduated in December and seem to be more lost than ever of where I want to go next. I just quit my job as an after school program director due to rumors and a lack of professionalism within the agency.

The original plan was to go to graduate school in the fall for a Master's in Social Work, but sometimes the thought of graduate school leaves me feeling already exhausted. Sometimes I feel like I just want to work and put my skills to good use already, rather than spending thousands more dollars for more education.

Right now I'm taking a little break for the work force and focusing on myself. I'm going back to my hometown  tomorrow for a little while to try to clear my head and recharge. When you're feeling lost, sometimes you need to go back where you came from.

Khaki Dress

When I was picking out my outfit today, I was really torn about what to wear. I really wanted to wear this dress, but I didn't really have any sweaters or layers that I felt looks good with it. I just decided to wear it without a sweater (even though it's 27 degrees out) because that's what coats are for, right?

Today I'm going to MASS. MoCA (Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art) which is right in my college town (North Adams, MA) with friends to check out the new play Habit. Instead of watching a play while sitting, you actually walk around the set, which is a house, and watch the play. It's like you're right in the play. I think it sounds pretty cool.

Later tonight my friends and I are going to bingo. We're kind of lame college students, but we love it.

Today I am wearing a tiny floral print skirt from Forever 21. I really like the shape of this skirt and the detailed buttoning down the front of it. I'm wearing it with a red basic t-shirt and black tights from Target.

I just wore this to class and work. It's nice because it's casual, but still feels very feminine and put together.

Yesterday I felt really pretty in my outfit. I loved the new floral dress that I got from Forever 21 paired with purple tights from Target. Unfortunately, I had to wear a sweater and a heavy coat over the dress when I went out. I can't wait until it's warm and I can wear dresses without a sweater and tights. Today was a little warmer though - a whole 40 degrees out!

I will post my outfit today soon - I'm just super busy these days.

Stay warm,
Sarah

Heart-Eyed Owls

I am in love with the shirt I am wearing today. I bought it this weekend at Forever 21. I absolutely adore owls so when I saw this shirt I feel in love. It's so cute with the owls' heart shaped eyes. The black skirt is from Forever 21, as well, the tights are from Target, and the belt is from Goodwill.

I tried to braid my hair today. I really like the look of braids, but I'm awful at braiding; plus, my hair falls out of braids easily because of all my layers. I liked how it turned out though.

Back in Plaid

This is my first blog in a couple days - just have felt a lack of motivation to take pictures of myself. But I'm back at it!

I'm home for this long weekend and it's been really nice. Just been hanging out with friends and family - games, shopping, going out to eat. I went to the mall yesterday with Ryne and his family and bought 2 skirts, a sweet owl shirt, and a dress at Forever 21. I wish it was warm enough to wear skirts and dresses without a bunch of layers and tights - soon enough though!

Today I'm wearing a pink plaid shirt, a black belt, and a gold necklace all found at Goodwill. The white cami and   earrings are from Forever 21 and the jeans are from Pacific Sunwear.

Happy President's Day, y'all!
Sarah

Dinner of Love

Tonight I am going out to dinner with my boyfriend to celebrate Valentine's Day and our four year anniversary (which is tomorrow). I wanted to look a little romantic so I put on my new black skirt from Forever 21, a red shirt from Target, and a peace sign scarf from Fashion Bug.

This morning it actually took me awhile to pick out this outfit - I just couldn't seem to look like what I saw in my head. Don't you hate when that happens? But I really like how it turned out.

Until tomorrow,
Sarah
